Every Day is a Celebration!
One of Santa Fe's favorite restaurants, Celebrations was located amid the galleries on Canyon Road for more than 20 years. In the summer of 2007, the renowned eatery renovated a space in St. Michael's Village West, formerly occupied by Bert's La Taqueria. Not far from the intersection of Cerrillos Road and St. Michael's Drive, the new location is just east of the main entrance to the College of Santa Fe.
The new restaurant features a large, walled garden patio and plenty of comfortable booths in a light, bright setting with warm colors, wooden furnishings, original art and plenty of plants.
Chef-owner Sylvia Johnson said she loved being on Canyon Road for all those years, but “there was no parking and we struggled with our historic adobe building being hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Here we have parking galore, central air and heat, and mountain views!”
Celebrations is known for its breakfasts, including homemade cinnamon rolls and biscuits as well as signature Celebrations dollar-size pancakes with pure maple syrup. “My chorizo gravy (served with biscuits) makes grown men cry,” Johnson smiled. The restaurant was issued its beer and wine license in January and opened for dinner January 23. Click here to see the current menu.
Celebrations plans to celebrate special days from Mardi Gras to New Year's Eve, but their attitude is every day marks a celebration for someone, whether it's a birthday, anniversary, wedding or whatever, so let's make every meal special.
